Although the Renn Kirby organization has its roots in Frederick, Maryland, the company in 2003 had expanded its operation to the Gettysburg PA market. We represent Chevrolet and Buick.

After 72 years in downtown Frederick, an auto dealership has moved.
Renn Kirby Mitsubishi is now at the former Saturn dealership at 5903 Urbana Pike (Md. 355), near Costco.
The dealership, launched by the Renn family in 1938 and located on North Market Street, initially sold Pontiacs.
John Kirby purchased the business in 1978 and later added Mitsubishi to the lineup. When General Motors phased out Pontiac, it became a Mitsubishi-only dealership.
"We wanted to be around the other car dealers," said Sean Kirby, president. He took over the helm of the dealership from his father in 1996.
"It helps all of us," Kirby said, noting the location along Md. 355, and nearby Md. 85, where many of the dealerships are located. "People can look at all different cars."
Kirby said that when General Motors terminated Saturn the site became available and is an excellent location. He has 13 employees, many of whom have been with the dealership for years and have extensive experience in the automotive field.
"Mitsubishi offers incredible quality, but the name isn't as well-known as Honda and Toyota in the U.S., but it is very big around the world," Kirby said.
The Mitsubishi line offers sport coupes, sedans and SUVs with extensive warranties, some of which cover virtually everything on the vehicle.
With the tough economy, Kirby said he and his staff are working with several banks that are lending.
"There are a lot of people out there with their credit dinged, but we can often work with people with not-perfect credit. Everybody needs a good car to get to work."
